Two great Italian performances, but who tops the stats.
Napoli and Galatasaray both have +6 VA , but Napoli finishing 2nd have an amazing +3.5 PVA , putting them just higher than top place Hellas . Promoted Ajax come 3rd in the PVA chart , Man City just missed out on the playoffs but should be proud of +4 VA and 4th place in the PVA table.
Liege and Chievo on +3 VA both escaped relegation with creditable performances.
At the wrong end Monaco have the worse VA on -9 , but Arsenal who should have topped the league came 4th. Despite play off hopes it isn’t where they should be , so they get the worse PVA this year. Espanyol also in the playoffs should have been promoted and that is why they are so low. Leverkeseun had a notable low VA but suffered less than Wolsburg with -4 VA leading to relegation.
Shaktar really had no chance all along but Montpellier should have avoided the drop.
Having said this with only 3 pts separating 17th to 11th it was all up for grabs until the last whistle sounded.
