Chelsea draw closer to Barcelona, Juve narrow the gap?
Usual warning , this is all number crunching. Where it wasn’t obvious I used common sense to place players where I expect them to play.
It seems that we have an obvious top 3 who are 2 or 3 points above the other teams in almost all categories.
Barcelona dominate except in defense. That should be the area of focus for most teams this year, it is possible to score against them , just how do you stop their attack?
Chelsea have a better defence that Barca, they may be slightly weaker in midfield and goal but can match them upfront. Juve also have a stronger defence and much more depth than Barcelona. A few injuries or suspension could make the difference.
The next 2 teams should be Bayern and PSG. Bayern have a strong and balanced squad with PSG similarly rated but with less strength and more depth.
There is then a raft of teams any of whom could challenge outside the top 3 from Dortmund to Atletico , some for example Real and Dortmund expect to get off to a good start but fade mid season, Roma may be slow burners coming on strong as the season progresses.
Life will be tough for the lower 4 rated teams.
Less than 224 rated , means almost certain relegation , Hellas must hope their keeper , keeps them safe, Milan are good enough up front but will they get much possesion? Ajax are weak at the back , as are Schalke.
