You need 221 pts to survive D2 and last season went more or less to plan in D3 with 222pts for promotion. This suggests Hertha and Basel as clear favourites with any one of 9 other teams as far down as Sampdoria who could pinch the other place, but will they survive if they go up or should they rebuid? Celtic and PSV perhaps can be counted out as they have a weak keeper but both have got off to a good start. Also most teams have good depth which explains why D3 may follow the stats once again.
Less than 218 should get you relegated but again their are more teams than places. Fenerbache, Chievo and Sunderland have a double weakness at the back perhaps making them easy targets for better teams to risk an attacking game.
Monpellier and Levante could be good cup teams this year.
