Division 4 Stats and facts season 5
The Dynamo of the league or a flat battery waiting to be charged.
Monaco are statistically the best team in the league by some way, but they are plagued by constant underperformance. A somewhat better start this year could see them in more lofty climbs. Olympiacos with their excellent keeper should finish 2nd but will their love of one particular position be their un doing. Celta Vigo may well have a starting 11 to match Monaco but lack depth , off to a good start but can they hold it together.
You will need around 87.2 to survive in D3 , the sorting hat hasn't quite worked it's magic down this far into the leagues, meaning all the teams down to Stuttgart could challenge for an automatic or even play off spot. It really is tight in D4 with very little to split the chasing pack. Stoke seem to be going for a promotion or relagation strategy , or maybe the team isn't fully prepared yet with more players coming in .
Of the relegation candidates, they all have their easy to spot flaws.
Kiev have a weak attack, Zagreb a weak midfield and depth, Bordeaux a poor keeper / defence combo. Dynamo Moscow lack depth, Santos much the worse keeper. All are in the lower reaches of the league at the moment, can they escape the chop. Dnipro could go for a good cup run with their squad

The Science of Squad Size
A recent comment from Mr Malcolm’s (excellent) review of Division 2 teams regarding squad depth made me think about my squad and so I decided to share my thinking on squad depth and coverage that I have developed over the last two seasons at Die Wolfe.
In Top100 - like several of my other game worlds - I typically find myself only competing in one major competition in any one season: the league. My appearances in Shield and Cup knockouts tends to be short and sweet - and of course Youth and World Club Cups are not impacted by injuries and do not affect fatigue.
Division 3 Season 5 stats and facts
A couple of mighty team languish in the depths of division 3, will they emerge to haunt of of the top 100 or vanish without a trace.
Why are PSV not top of the league, well regular underperformance is the answer.
A team with a 91 keeper and above 89 should easily finish in the top 4. Shaktar are performing as they should and another 90 rated keeper should see them into D2 this year. Leicester another underperforming outfit ,also struggling again. They have the best attack in D3, while they are sure to be safe from relegation they should flourish against 88 rated keepers.
You probably need above 88 to survive D2 so you can't go down that far any more to look at playoff contenders, perhaps as far as Saint - Etienne with their strong defence or even Sassuolo if they overcome the lack of depth.
At the wrong end Cruziero who should be last are top. Again it could be lack of depth that under rates them but will also cost long term. Marseille could well be in worse shape , with the worse keeper and apart from the top18 the worse over all rating. The 2 Turkish teams could also end up going the wrong way but any team up as far as Lokomotive with their weak depth are at risk

Hi All
Whats happening with soccer manager (wish it was named Football Manger) I cant get on my phone or laptop its just timing out, its been slow all week but today I cannot get on.

Division 2 Season 5 stats and facts
Will the big 3 return to the big time? will it be a German top 3 ?
Atletico are the obvious favourites, with Southampton , Schalke and Leverkusen close behind.
O.K second division, so second point to note. Some managers have commented that they have built their squad up through skilled trading or scouting and then get penalised in the value added againsts managers who do little or nothing.
Well that is a good point, but to do that we would need to look at squad value increase or otherwise over the course of the season.
Anyway back to the league in hand.
Atletico and Southampton can push out a full 90 rated squad and would sit happily in division 1. Other than Schalke and Leverkeusen , all the other teams in D2 would be relegation fodder, which is an interesting developement. Probably a result of the sorting hat in action.
It will be interesting to see how Wolfsburg fair. A weaker keeper and no depth, but the potential to cope with the big boys in the short term
Zenit and Inter have the top keepers and should be able to challenge for a playoff spot.
Of the mid table pack Benfica and Fenerbache have a powerful attack.
Spartak and current leaders Internacional should be relegation bound. Swansea have a potent enough forward line to avoid the drop. There is good strength in depth in this league and any of the 87 rated teams in the top 18 category, should be able to play to their strengths all season.
As for my own team. I expect a tough start to the season but then I hope to challenge for the playoff by the end of the season.

Who is top of the pile and who can over perform.
Have Barcelona sacrificed depth for youth?
First of all, nothing here is opinion. I don't believe or predict that AC Milan will finish last. This is just raw stats with no opinion attached.
Barcelona still look like the favourites. Real, Bayern and Juventus should snap at their heels. Man Utd sit ahead of a more evenly packed mid table crowd from Chelsea down to Dortmund. Valencia and Dortmund probably have the depth to push on late in the season. The opposite is true of the first relegation favourites Napoli, Borussia and Porto, plenty of strength , little depth. wisely Ajax and Everton have a stronger squad, to survive the inevitable relegation battle. AC Milan and Mr Beddows hold up the statistical table. Can he beat his value added score from last season?

Ronaldo - The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again
Ronaldo, who scored 73 goals and assisted 74 goals in 130 games, moved to the Spanish capital last week.
The move to Madrid takes him closer to his lover Philipp Lahm.
"I hope you all can understand why I made this decision", said the Portuguese Superstar.
The Manager said, "Bayern did everything to get Ronaldo to stay, but Roy very slyly got Lahm and then got to him to convince his lover to join him in the capital. Ronny was not happy with the growing closeness of Lahm with Hazard and he decided to move to Madrid on the condition that Hazard is offloaded. Thus, the desperation of Roy to offload Hazard took place and the king moved to Madrid. Ronny is a very special talent and I would like to thanks him for the role he has played for our success in the last season", said the boss Gursimran Brar.
THE TOP100 - DIVISION 1 - SEASON 5 PREVIEW
With Season 4 still fresh in the memory, it has not taken long for Season 5 to come along. I was sure that there used to be a longer break between the end of one season and the start of the other but I may be wrong. Anyway, Division 1 will no doubt run in the same way we have been used to with Bayern Munich and Barcelona battling it out for the title, Real Madrid and Juventus hoping to keep their top 4 status, 9 or 10 teams fighting it out for the positions 5-14 and 6 or 7 teams embroiled in a relegation fight. Can it be any different this season? I honestly don’t know. I am sure that a season must soon come along that takes everyone by surprise but whether that is this season is unknown. Would make a nice change though. This season we welcome back Manchester United after just a one season absence, AS Roma, who are back in Division 1 for the first time since Season 1 and Everton and Ajax Amsterdam, who make their first appearance in the top flight. Ajax, as far as I know, are actually the first Dutch club to appear in Division 1.
As always, we will look at each club and how they might fare over the 38 games. For the second season in a row, the predicted finishes were 55% accurate (within two places) but more interestingly, last season seen 3 of the 4 relegated teams being predicted correctly. So who will be predicted to finish where. Let’s get to it:
TEAM: AC MILAN
MANAGER: MICHAEL H
A tough season lies ahead for Ajax, who become first Dutch side to play in the top league, with a squad that lacks the strength and depth to compete with even the average sides in the division. It will be a case of scrambling points here and there when they can but, like Zenit last season, a quick return to Division 2 is on the cards
MANAGER: MICHAEL BOWES
After a disastrous season last year that at one point looked as if it would end in relegation, Arsenal will be determined to show it was a fluke and it won't happen again. The addition of Tomas Muller as well as a few others should make sure Arsenal improve and they should be more solid both in defence and attack
MICHAEL BOWES: Our aim this season is to finish in the top half of the table and to reach a cup final
MICHAEL'S TITLE TIP: REAL MADRID
MANAGER: NEIL FRANKLAND
AS Roma return to Division 1 after a 4 season absence and they will be hoping to do better than their only other season in the top flight when they finished bottom. Neil has a team that are capable of causing a few upsets and no one can take them lightly. New boy Sadio Mane will be expected to provide the goals that will keep them up but when it comes down to the business end of the season I fear the Italian side may just come up short
MANAGER: SCOTT McKENZIE
Barcelona lost their crown last season and will be determined to win it back. There is nothing more dangerous than a wounded animal and that makes for one hell of a fight at the top of the table. Eden Hazard has changed allegiance from Real with Laporte also checking in at the Camp Nou. It is going to be a close race but, fortunately for Scott, I think they will have to settle for second once more.
MANAGER: GURSIMRAN BRAR
Bayern Munich lifted the title last season at the fourth time of asking although it should have been more comfortable than it was. They were in control early on but some careless dropped points towards the end left them just hanging on in the last couple of games. Gareth Bale has joined in the close season and while they have lost Ronaldo, I think they still have enough to make it two titles on the spin
MANAGER: LEE REYNOLDS
Borussia Dortmund could have finished anywhere between 5th and 14th last season as a lot of sides jockeyed for the mid table positions. In the end it was another top ten finish for the German club and they will fancy themselves to repeat that performance. Sergi Roberto looks a good signing and a safe mid table position will once again be likely but a top ten place may be out of reach as the standard in the division rises
MANAGER: ALEKS POLONCZYK
Aleks Polonczyk pulled out all the stops to make sure that Borussia Monchengladbach held on to their status and they certainly did surprise many teams with their determination and organization. Aleks has decided not to add to his squad and obviously feels they are good enough to maintain their place in Division 1. I think otherwise and they will no longer be a surprise package to other teams and unless they can do some business in the tough transfer market then I think it will be relegation at the end of the season.
ALEKS POLONCZYK: Our aim for this season is much the same as the last and that is to avoid relegation and to beat A.C. Milan home and away.
MANAGER: JAMES McKENZIE
Chelsea missed a glorious chance to attain their best ever finish in the table when a mixed run of results near the end of the season seen them finish 7th. It was a vast improvement, though, on the previous season and definitely gives James something to build on. Always active in the transfer market, Chelsea have added players like Kimmich and Fabinho as they try to break into the top 6. Last season they sat in 5th place for a while and I think that this season that could be exactly where they finish
MANAGER: DAVID INGLIS
Everton make their debut in Division 1 after being promoted as Division 2 champions and, like most teams playing in the top league for the first time, are bound to find it tough going. They have found it difficult to bring in new players but the defence looks sound enough not to leak plenty of goals. Up front they seem a bit lightweight organized well then they could surprise a few teams. It will be difficult for manager David Inglis but I think they can just manage to stay up
MANAGER: ANDRE GUERRA
Every season FC Porto go about their business quietly and always have a solid season. They have not been able to replicate the form that seen them finish 5th in Season 2 but, apart from a brief spell early last season, they are never in trouble at the bottom. Bringing Karim Benzema to the club was a master stroke by Andre last season and he duly netted 17 times in 29 games. He will again be vital to Porto but I get the feeling that they will need more than that this season.
MANAGER: DP 91
Juventus and 4th place seem to go together like bread and butter. Last season, for a while, Juventus flirted with 5th and it looked like the top 4 may be compromised but a good run of results for the old lady put paid to that. There has been no move by DP in the transfer market for the new season either because he is happy with his team or the right player has not become available. I would love to say that 4th place is not going to happen this season, but it is.
DP91'S TITLE TIP: BARCELONA
PREDICTED FINISH: 4th
MANAGER: GORDON 'GINO' KINNEAR
Liverpool seemed to concentrate more on the cups than the league last season and that seen them reach 4 quarter finals, going on to win the TOP100 Cup and reach the final of the Champions Cup. The league form was erratic though and they hardly strung a good run of results together. Kinnear has brought in the experienced Willian to help with the supply to Diego Costa. Costa will be expected to bag more goals this season after being outscored by the impressive Moutinho. A top ten finish is ahead for the Anfield side.
MANAGER: PADDY D
Manchester City have flattered to deceive at times with their underachieving players causing Paddy a lot of frustration. A fight against relegation was again the main feature of their season although they did get to the final of the TOP100 Cup. Paddy has delved into the transfer market to bring in Schneiderlin, Soares and Depay among others. City will be hoping the changes have a positive affect but I feel that this could be the end of their time in Division 1
PADDY D: We hope we can get a top ten finish and thus a place in Europe
PADDY'S TITLE TIP: REAL MADRID
MANAGER: RAHUL W
Manchester United return to the big time after just one season away, this time under the guidance of the busy Rahul W. The first ever winners of the TOP100 will be anxious to give a good showing this season and Rahul has brought in the experienced Piszczek and Iniesta to help. The midfield looks as good as any in the league and the gamble on Cavani up front could bring United the firepower that they will need. A good solid season seems the likely outcome and they will be the best of the promoted sides.
RAHUL'S TITLE TIP: BARCELONA
MANAGER: GARY NAYLOR
Paris Saint-Germain have some of the best players in the league but a lack of depth means that injuries and suspensions are hard to deal with. They have made no major moves in the transfer market and will be relying on Ibrahimovic to score the goals that keep them safe. Verratti will control many games from midfield with Varane and Marquinhos forming a young pairing at the back. The skeleton of the team looks good but other positions could let them down. A top ten finish can be attained - just.
MANAGER: ROY KEANE
ROY'S TITLE TIP: REAL MADRID
MANAGER: ROB RYAN
An excellent Season 4 campaign for Napoli seems to have largely gone unnoticed mainly due to Bayern's 4 trophy haul amongst other headline grabbing events but Rob Ryan has worked wonders with the team and a 5th place finish was a superb performance. Without any real big stars it may prove very difficult to repeat that performance but Rob has a lot of confidence in his own ability. This season will probably not bring the same kind of results as last year and I am probably setting myself up for a fall here but with the distraction of the Champions Cup, Napoli will find themselves down among the mid table pack come the end of the campaign.
ROB'S TITLE TIP: BARCELONA
MANAGER: DAVID 'THE FOX' PIERO
Tottenham had an impressive season after their promotion from Division 2 and the 8th place finish earned them a place in this season's Euro Shield. Joe Hart and Marcus Rashford have been added to the squad as The Fox tries to repeat the feats from the last campaign. Tottenham are a hard side to play against and difficult to beat. Ozil has been huge in midfield and if he can replicate that form then Spurs should be up in the top 10 once more and maybe even improve on last season's finish.
DAVID'S TITLE TIP: BARCELONA/BAYERN MUNICH
MANAGER: DAVID SENIOR
Valencia had their usual solid season with only a late drop in form seeing them finish in the bottom half of the table. Gueye and Cuadrado have been added to a team that has no superstars but plenty of solid players. Valencia are a good team with a good manager and a lot will depend on how the players react to the news that David Senior will leave the club at the end of the season. I think they will react will and could manage to squeeze into the top 6

In the Pub... Again
Well, here I am again, in the pub.
You see, I’m currently working in That London, I’m a agency or locum Radiotherapist, been doing this for over 8 years, more than 4 as a locum. I’ve grown to hate my job, not cos of the nature of it, more the pushy, bossy, stressy self important people that seem to be attracted to the job. Also it has become a ‘production line’, get the patients through as quick as possible, 15 minute slots. Im lonely and I really miss my wife back in Brum who I see at weekends. So, I’ve applyed to be a bus driver, I know it’s not the greatest job with shifts and twats but its local, I used to drive as a living and i get free travel!
Maybe I can start being funny on here again then. Until then I’m on my own, on Sm in the pub.

REVIEW OF THE PREVIEW FOR SEASON 4
With Season 4 finished it won’t take long for Season 5 to come racing along. For a few it means a new team, a new target and getting used to new players. As always, the excitement builds as the fixture list is published and everyone has dreams of winning their division. Once again I will be doing a preview for Division 1 but I thought we would check out last year’s and see how well the prediction fared. Taking it team by team, here is a short assessment of how each team got on.
AC MILAN
PREDICTED FINISH: 16th
ACTUAL FINISH: 6th
A superb season for Mr Beddows and his AC Milan side. Most thought they would struggle and I agreed but thought they would survive. Great performance from the second best Italian side in the set up.
I predicted a 16th place but Stephen made me look stupid with his well thought out tactics over the season.
GRADE: A
ARSENAL
PREDICTED FINISH: 5th
ACTUAL FINISH: 15th
A shocker of a season for a normally reliable Arsenal side. A struggle down at the bottom seen Arsenal flirt with relegation until the last few games. Things can only get better for Michael Bowes' outfit.
I predicted an improved season for Arsenal and a 5th place finish but they were awful for most of the campaign and again I was way out. Maybe my formula got mixed up between AC Milan and Arsenal.
GRADE: D
ATLETICO MADRID
PREDICTED FINISH: 17th
ACTUAL FINISH: 17th
Atletico Madrid found this season too tough and could never get any momentum going and in the end they wee relegated to Division 2. Atletico played like they knew they would struggle and it will take some good man management to get them back up at the first attempt
I got this one bang on. My comment included the statement ‘No matter how hard I tried to find reasons for them to have a decent season, I couldn’t find any and come the end of the campaign I feel that Atletico will be on the way down to Division 2’ Season 3 suggested that this would be a long season for Atletico and so it turned out.
GRADE: D
BARCELONA
PREDICTED FINISH: 1st
ACTUAL FINISH: 2nd
Barcelona went for 3 titles in a row but they fell just short although a late burst of wins made the title race seem much closer than it was. A disappointing season for Barca with only the curtain raiser Charity Shield to show for their efforts.
I thought 3 in a row was looking good but it wasn’t to be. A 2nd place finish means I was one place out but it would probably been easy for almost everyone to predict that.
GRADE: B
BAYERN MUNICH
PREDICTED FINISH: 2nd
ACTUAL FINISH: 1st
At the 4th attempt Bayern Munich and Gursimran Brar became Champions. A superb season seen a 4 trophy haul and that is very impressive at any level. It will be tough trying to defend 4 trophies but if anyone can do it then Gursimran can. The fact he is already trying to improve his squad is a sign of good management
For the second season in a row I got the top 2 the wrong way round. I predicted Bayern to win the title in Season 3 but they finished second. This season it was the other way round. Another one where I was one place out.
GRADE: A
BORUSSIA DORTMUND
PREDICTED FINISH: 7th
ACTUAL FINISH: 9th
A good second half of the season seen Dortmund finish 9th after being in danger of slipping into the relegation battle. There are a group of clubs that fight for the mid table places and Dortmund are one of them. Some will be disappointed in the Dortmund season but it finished with a place in the Euro Shield and that should be regarded as successful.
I was two places out with the Dortmund prediction but it could have been worse if Dortmund hadn’t had a decent recovery in results and performances.
GRADE: C
BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH
PREDICTED FINISH: 19th
ACTUAL FINISH: 14th
A good first season for Monchengladbach as they attained safety and kept their place in the top flight for another season. Flirted briefly with the relegation fight but always managed to pull out the points when they needed them. Great management by Aleks.
I thought Borussia did not have a strong enough squad to avoid going straight back down to Division 2 but kudos to Aleks Polonczyk for proving me wrong and getting enough points to comfortably stay in Division 1. 5 places out which was below par.
GRADE: B+
CHELSEA
PREDICTED FINISH: 15th
ACTUAL FINISH: 7th
A finish that seen Chelsea win just one of their last six league games seen them slip from a possible best ever 5th place to finish 7th. It was still a good season for the Blues and a Youth Cup title will give them a boost for the future. Things looking up for Chelsea.
I thought it would be a tough season for Chelsea but they at last showed their potential and at one stage looked like they might break into the top 4. My 15th place prediction was a huge 8 places out and I am very disappointed with that.
GRADE: B
FC PORTO
PREDICTED FINISH: 11th
ACTUAL FINISH: 10th
FC Porto briefly flirted with the relegation battle early on but they managed to pull clear and were content to stay around the mid table area. A bag of mixed results made them hard to predict and of course hard to beat. Another season in the top flight is coming their way.
A mid table finish was expected and I was only one place away from having it spot on. It’s doubtful that they will ever improve on their 5th place finish in Season 2 but also seem to good to go down.
GRADE: C
FC SCHALKE
PREDICTED FINISH: 18th
ACTUAL FINISH: 19th
After a difficult season 3 in which Schalke finished 15th, it was always going to be tough for Schalke in Season 4 and that was how it turned out. A run of 8 defeats on the bounce in January and February was too hard to recover from and Schalke find themselves back in Division 2 after 2 seasons in the top flight.
Only one place out again but the relegation prediction was spot on. The question is, will Schalke be able to bounce back again next season. Time will tell but history suggests it is not easy to bounce back straight away/
GRADE: D
JUVENTUS
PREDICTED FINISH: 4th
ACTUAL FINISH: 4th
Another 4th place finish for Juventus was widely expected. They don’t seem good enough to make the top 3 but are too good to finish any lower than 4th. Some good results during the season and will be happy enough that they are still the number one team in Italy despite some other claims.
I got this one right but it was hardly rocket science. Something will have to give at some point with a change in the top 4 and Juventus seem the most likely to give way.
GRADE: B
LIVERPOOL
PREDICTED FINISH: 8th
ACTUAL FINISH: 11th
Was always going to be difficult to repeat Season 3’s 5th place and Liverpool seemed more interested in the cups while treading water in the league. Cup record seems to confirm that theory as Liverpool won the TOP100 Cup, were runners up in the Champions Cup, Semi Finalists in the WorldClub Cup and Quarter Finalists in the Youth Cup.
I predicted an 8th place finish for Liverpool but poor away form where just 3 of the 19 games were won meant that a finish outside the top 10 was the result.
GRADE: C
MANCHESTER CITY
PREDICTED FINISH: 9th
ACTUAL FINISH: 16th
Manchester City were expected to build on a great second half in Season 3 but it didn’t work out like that as they were involved in a relegation scrap before managing to just avoid it. Poor away form put paid to any chance of pulling away from the scrap at the bottom and they will be relieved that they didn’t go down.
I expected a much better season from Manchester City but they weren’t as good as they seemed to be. I thought it would have been a top 10 finish but ended up 7 places out. Must do better than that.
GRADE: D
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN
PREDICTED FINISH: 14th
ACTUAL FINISH: 12th
PSG had a mixed season but were never in any danger during the season but many will think they underachieved with the stars they have in their squad. Too many home defeats showed that visiting teams are not worried to go Paris.
I predicted a 14th place finish and they weren’t far away from that. 2 places out is a decent effort but I would still like to predict them to finish higher. No idea what I think about them next season yet. Will see if they are involved in the transfer market first.
GRADE: C
REAL MADRID
PREDICTED FINISH: 3rd
ACTUAL FINISH: 3rd
Real Madrid had a poorer season than they had hoped for as they failed to lift any trophy that they competed for. 3rd place in the league seems to be what is expected but the club and the fans are not going to be happy until they can finish in the top 2 at least. For a while they threatened to split Bayern and Barcelona but it wasn’t to be.
I predicted their 3rd place but that isn’t anything to boast about as most of us expected that to be the case. It still counts as a correct prediction and I will take anything I can get for the Season 4 forecast.
GRADE: B
SS LAZIO
PREDICTED FINISH: 13th
ACTUAL FINISH: 20th
Nothing went right for Lazio this season and after 4 campaigns in the top flight they find themselves in Division 2 for the first time. At one stage it seemed they were making a recovery and were good bets to escape but it all went wrong for them at the important time and it’s a bottom place finish for the Italian side.
This one was a surprise to me as I thought they had the quality to be a Division 1 side for a few seasons to come but once you hit a bad run it can be fatal in a competitive league like this. 7 places out is a disappointment but it certainly was a surprise to me.
GRADE: E
SSC NAPOLI
PREDICTED FINISH: 6th
ACTUAL FINISH: 5th
Another fine season for Napoli who attained their highest finish yet in the TOP100. Always seem to be the club that no one notices how well they are doing and rarely grab the limelight. The 5th place finish should see them being seen as a threat now.
My 6th place prediction was almost spot on although I am of the opinion that they overachieve. I doubt they can break into the top 4 as I feel with Napoli finishing 5th that it shows there is a big gap between the top 4 and the rest. Only one place out though was a good prediction

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
PREDICTED FINISH: 12th
ACTUAL FINISH: 8th
Tottenham made an impressive debut in Division 1 and were always in the hunt for a place in Europe. They were amongst the pack that were fighting out 5th to 12th in the table and will be quietly pleased with their performance.
I thought Tottenham were the best equipped of the promoted sides to do well and while they did do well, AC Milan proved to be the best of the promoted sides. Prediction was out by 4 places and it’s well done to Tottenham for their good season.
GRADE: B+
VALENCIA CF
PREDICTED FINISH: 10th
ACTUAL FINISH: 13th
Valencia should have finished in 5th place as they were through most of the season, the best of the rest but a horror run in that seen them earn just 2 points from 21 meant that they finished in 13th place, although a run to the Final of the World Club Cup would have taken their mind of the league. Still a team to be reckoned with.
A mid table finish was how I seen this and I ended up three places out. A reasonable prediction that would have looked even better if they had just won one of the last seven games.
GRADE: C
ZENIT ST PETERSBURG
PREDICTED FINISH: 20th
ACTUAL FINISH: 18th
Zenit were the hottest favourites in TOP100 history to be relegated and although they coped better than expected, they still went down to Division 2 at the first time of asking. If they hadn’t taken as long as they had to adapt to the top league then they may have managed to stay up. A good effort and they will be among the favourites to come back up again.
I predicted a bottom place finish for the weakest squad in the division but they were more competitive than I expected. They still went down though and they give me 3 out of the 4 relegated sides that I predicted.
GRADE: C-
That was how Season 4 finished and the predictions finished like this:

3-5 PLACES OUT: 4
6 OR MORE: 5
A reasonable performance I suppose with 55% of the teams being within 2 places of their final position and 3 out of the 4 teams relegated correctly predicted. Hopefully I can do better next season and it’s time to start work on the Season 5 preview.

Firstly. The stats and facts ,despite certain people who are a little hard of understanding commenting otherwise, merely predict what should happen according to the raw data. Obviously that takes no account of manager skill, I could in future seasons factor that in , based on previous seasons value added but that is bit too much like hard work.
So on raw or should I say roar ! value added score.

So clearly on raw score AC Milan did a fantastic job.
If we look at skewed value added which includes a measure of success , rather than merely achievement.

Division 5 Season 4 Value Added
Dynamo Moscow win the league and get the highest rating, credit goes to Santos for a good season. Twente and even 5th place Torino fail to impress again.
Controversial a 5th place team lowest in the ranking? Well not considering the side they have. An 89 keeper and 90 rated forward , should have been a walk in the park and not a blunder through the play offs.

Division 4 Season 4 Value added
Hellas and Sassuolo lead the charge. Monaco and West Ham some of the worst performing in all 4 leagues.
Again a good example of where a skew works well . Sampdoria have the highest raw VA at +12 but in all honesty 4th place hasn't won them any prizes yet!. Hellas and Sassuolo gain auto promotion and deserve to be higher rated.
At the other end 3rd place pick West Ham finish last but was that worse than easy 1st pick Monaco finishing 12th with the side they had. Worth discussing.

Mid Table joy for Lyon
When Manager Niall Taylor arrived in Lyon, the French outfit were well and truly rooted to the bottom of Div 2 and were relegation favourites after a shock start to the season, but 21 leauge games later Lyon finished the season an a surprising 12th position.
" When i arrived confidence was at rock bottom, so i took them on a break to Scotland, and did some team bonding, we added Christian Benteke as i felt we needed an attacking outlet and brought back to the club Clement Grenier and made Pontus Wernbloom captain, i think the influence of these 3 and staring performances from veterans Mathieu Valbuena, Gorka Iraizoz & Spanish forward Rodrigo Moreno helped the rest of the squad raise their game and suddenly team found us very hard to break down"
In the 21 games Taylor was in charge Lyon won 10 drew 6 and lost 5 which led to a points total of 46 points and a 12th place finish
On next season Taylor had this to say " We are now activity looking to overhaul the squad, heroes for this season will be allowed to leave if the sale benefits the club moving forward, we have already trimmed the youth set up which again needs alot of work, which will hopefully in the years to come develop players for the first team, our aim for next season will to make the top 10 and build on this season.
