Division 4 Stats and facts season 5
The Dynamo of the league or a flat battery waiting to be charged.
Monaco are statistically the best team in the league by some way, but they are plagued by constant underperformance. A somewhat better start this year could see them in more lofty climbs. Olympiacos with their excellent keeper should finish 2nd but will their love of one particular position be their un doing. Celta Vigo may well have a starting 11 to match Monaco but lack depth , off to a good start but can they hold it together.
You will need around 87.2 to survive in D3 , the sorting hat hasn't quite worked it's magic down this far into the leagues, meaning all the teams down to Stuttgart could challenge for an automatic or even play off spot. It really is tight in D4 with very little to split the chasing pack. Stoke seem to be going for a promotion or relagation strategy , or maybe the team isn't fully prepared yet with more players coming in .
Of the relegation candidates, they all have their easy to spot flaws.
Kiev have a weak attack, Zagreb a weak midfield and depth, Bordeaux a poor keeper / defence combo. Dynamo Moscow lack depth, Santos much the worse keeper. All are in the lower reaches of the league at the moment, can they escape the chop. Dnipro could go for a good cup run with their squad

The Science of Squad Size
A recent comment from Mr Malcolm’s (excellent) review of Division 2 teams regarding squad depth made me think about my squad and so I decided to share my thinking on squad depth and coverage that I have developed over the last two seasons at Die Wolfe.
In Top100 - like several of my other game worlds - I typically find myself only competing in one major competition in any one season: the league. My appearances in Shield and Cup knockouts tends to be short and sweet - and of course Youth and World Club Cups are not impacted by injuries and do not affect fatigue.
Division 3 Season 5 stats and facts
A couple of mighty team languish in the depths of division 3, will they emerge to haunt of of the top 100 or vanish without a trace.
Why are PSV not top of the league, well regular underperformance is the answer.
A team with a 91 keeper and above 89 should easily finish in the top 4. Shaktar are performing as they should and another 90 rated keeper should see them into D2 this year. Leicester another underperforming outfit ,also struggling again. They have the best attack in D3, while they are sure to be safe from relegation they should flourish against 88 rated keepers.
You probably need above 88 to survive D2 so you can't go down that far any more to look at playoff contenders, perhaps as far as Saint - Etienne with their strong defence or even Sassuolo if they overcome the lack of depth.
At the wrong end Cruziero who should be last are top. Again it could be lack of depth that under rates them but will also cost long term. Marseille could well be in worse shape , with the worse keeper and apart from the top18 the worse over all rating. The 2 Turkish teams could also end up going the wrong way but any team up as far as Lokomotive with their weak depth are at risk

Whats happening with soccer manager (wish it was named Football Manger) I cant get on my phone or laptop its just timing out, its been slow all week but today I cannot get on.

Division 2 Season 5 stats and facts
Will the big 3 return to the big time? will it be a German top 3 ?
Atletico are the obvious favourites, with Southampton , Schalke and Leverkusen close behind.
O.K second division, so second point to note. Some managers have commented that they have built their squad up through skilled trading or scouting and then get penalised in the value added againsts managers who do little or nothing.
Well that is a good point, but to do that we would need to look at squad value increase or otherwise over the course of the season.
Anyway back to the league in hand.
Atletico and Southampton can push out a full 90 rated squad and would sit happily in division 1. Other than Schalke and Leverkeusen , all the other teams in D2 would be relegation fodder, which is an interesting developement. Probably a result of the sorting hat in action.
It will be interesting to see how Wolfsburg fair. A weaker keeper and no depth, but the potential to cope with the big boys in the short term
Zenit and Inter have the top keepers and should be able to challenge for a playoff spot.
Of the mid table pack Benfica and Fenerbache have a powerful attack.
Spartak and current leaders Internacional should be relegation bound. Swansea have a potent enough forward line to avoid the drop. There is good strength in depth in this league and any of the 87 rated teams in the top 18 category, should be able to play to their strengths all season.
As for my own team. I expect a tough start to the season but then I hope to challenge for the playoff by the end of the season.

Who is top of the pile and who can over perform.
Have Barcelona sacrificed depth for youth?
First of all, nothing here is opinion. I don't believe or predict that AC Milan will finish last. This is just raw stats with no opinion attached.
Barcelona still look like the favourites. Real, Bayern and Juventus should snap at their heels. Man Utd sit ahead of a more evenly packed mid table crowd from Chelsea down to Dortmund. Valencia and Dortmund probably have the depth to push on late in the season. The opposite is true of the first relegation favourites Napoli, Borussia and Porto, plenty of strength , little depth. wisely Ajax and Everton have a stronger squad, to survive the inevitable relegation battle. AC Milan and Mr Beddows hold up the statistical table. Can he beat his value added score from last season?

Ronaldo - The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again
Bayern Munich have sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid in exchange for Gareth Bale and Breel Embolo.
Ronaldo, who scored 73 goals and assisted 74 goals in 130 games, moved to the Spanish capital last week.
The move to Madrid takes him closer to his lover Philipp Lahm.
"I hope you all can understand why I made this decision", said the Portuguese Superstar.
The Manager said, "Bayern did everything to get Ronaldo to stay, but Roy very slyly got Lahm and then got to him to convince his lover to join him in the capital. Ronny was not happy with the growing closeness of Lahm with Hazard and he decided to move to Madrid on the condition that Hazard is offloaded. Thus, the desperation of Roy to offload Hazard took place and the king moved to Madrid. Ronny is a very special talent and I would like to thanks him for the role he has played for our success in the last season", said the boss Gursimran Brar.

THE TOP100 - DIVISION 1 - SEASON 5 PREVIEW
With Season 4 still fresh in the memory, it has not taken long for Season 5 to come along. I was sure that there used to be a longer break between the end of one season and the start of the other but I may be wrong. Anyway, Division 1 will no doubt run in the same way we have been used to with Bayern Munich and Barcelona battling it out for the title, Real Madrid and Juventus hoping to keep their top 4 status, 9 or 10 teams fighting it out for the positions 5-14 and 6 or 7 teams embroiled in a relegation fight. Can it be any different this season? I honestly don’t know. I am sure that a season must soon come along that takes everyone by surprise but whether that is this season is unknown. Would make a nice change though. This season we welcome back Manchester United after just a one season absence, AS Roma, who are back in Division 1 for the first time since Season 1 and Everton and Ajax Amsterdam, who make their first appearance in the top flight. Ajax, as far as I know, are actually the first Dutch club to appear in Division 1.
As always, we will look at each club and how they might fare over the 38 games. For the second season in a row, the predicted finishes were 55% accurate (within two places) but more interestingly, last season seen 3 of the 4 relegated teams being predicted correctly. So who will be predicted to finish where. Let’s get to it:
TEAM: AC MILAN
MANAGER: SIR STEPHEN BEDDOWS
LAST SEASON: 6th
STADIUM: SAN SIRO
KEY PLAYER: Mario BALOTELLI - Ballotelli has been a cult figure in Milan since the beginning but is goals may never be as important as they are this season as Milan will struggle to replicate last season's excellent top 6 finish.
BEST SEASON: 6th (Season 5)
Self knighted Sir Stephen did a sensational job with AC Milan last year and to finish in the top 6 was an outstanding achievement. This year will be tougher as other teams get used to their style of play and with no additions to the squad, a top six finish is unlikely this time around although a mid table position is well within reach.
STEPHEN BEDDOWS: As always our aim is to finish 18th (ermm that will get you relegated Stephen). We don't expect to finish as high as last season so just one place above relegation will do us.
STEPHEN'S TITLE TIP: No tip as the league is already fixed (?)
PREDICTED FINISH: 14th
OPENING FIXTURE: JUVENTUS (A)
TEAM: AJAX AMSTERDAM

MICHAEL H: Our main aim for the season is the same as my chairman's and that is to avoid relegation. If this can't be done then keeping my job is vital to keep on developing the squad ,I'd hate to leave after putting so much in to get to the top flight!

The biggest moves in the market have come at the Bernabeu where Roy Keane has brought in as many as 8 major players to totally revamp the team. After a trophyless Season 4, an assault on the title has been promised to the fans with another distant 3rd place last season caused by some erratic results. There will be some fireworks ahead and a title challenge could depend on how quickly the new players settle in and gel together. A much better league season lies ahead for Roy and his Galacticos but for this season, at least, they will come up just short of the top two.
ROY KEANE: Real Madrid's aim this season is to win the title and the Youth Cup. With Ronaldo back home, I expect a lot of goals and a lot of assists from him. I can promise you this, Ronaldo will be top dog this season. With other signings such as Lham and Thiago Silva and young players such as Jota and Asensio, Real Madrid are looking forward to the new season with confidence.

This season will probably not bring the same kind of results as last year and I am probably setting myself up for a fall here but with the distraction of the Champions Cup, Napoli will find themselves down among the mid table pack come the end of the campaign.

In the Pub... Again
Well, here I am again, in the pub.
You see, I’m currently working in That London, I’m a agency or locum Radiotherapist, been doing this for over 8 years, more than 4 as a locum. I’ve grown to hate my job, not cos of the nature of it, more the pushy, bossy, stressy self important people that seem to be attracted to the job. Also it has become a ‘production line’, get the patients through as quick as possible, 15 minute slots. Im lonely and I really miss my wife back in Brum who I see at weekends. So, I’ve applyed to be a bus driver, I know it’s not the greatest job with shifts and twats but its local, I used to drive as a living and i get free travel!
Maybe I can start being funny on here again then. Until then I’m on my own, on Sm in the pub.
