Cheers DP, much appreciated – believe it or not I've just come away from your posts and this of other in the Forum on the New User Interface, it appears there is continued discontent & more bugs being reported than in a termite mound, I'me dreading the day the switch off the old interface, though having tried the APP on my iPhone with the new UI I find it easier to use than the old one, which I guess is what they've developed it for.

Thank you boss, I enjoyed putting it together, amazing what you can do when you wake up at 3am & can't get back to sleep = )

An excellent read. I agree with your comments and clearly , my view, the new interface is designed for the app market and there attempt to encourage a new audience. But suspect will lose some, or many of the older (in terms only of SM history of course) users.

Thanks M & I agree that the update is aimed at making the interface phone friendly, SM is probably eyeing up the potential advertising income they can generate by increasing the mobile APP use, the fact that to get involved in the game requires more than 10 minute spells whilst sat on a train, bus or park bench would indicate that they are willing to risk their existing revenue stream by alienating their current customer base for potential advertising money generated from a new mobile customer base, not a clever business model I would suggest. I would be interested to know how many existing managers use a mobile as their main method of playing the game.

I can't tell you about SM, Mark/David but I can tell you that the traffic on the blog is currently made up of 70% Windows & Mac users with the remaining 30% being made up of Phones/Tablets. It's also very cool & interesting to see where our community / traffic are viewing the blog from around the world.

Tablets are a grey area I guess as they can use either browsers or APPs. Whilst I have always used PC, laptop or Mac I consciously started using the APP on my phone last week, partly out of curiosity as to how playable the game is on it & secondly to get myself ready for when they switch the old interface off, which no doubt they will do without warning. I'm slowly getting the hang of the new interface on there & hopefully it mirrors the browser version accurately. I have to admit the new APP is better than the old one though I have found a few pitfalls up to press. Changing the players in your team layout in Tactics is a bit a nightmare with no clear indication of how you should do it, also the players positions don't display properly, a DL,ML, AL shows only as a DL. I also found that posting in the News Feed is problematic as the close icon for a thread is right next to the first post delete button, which resulted in me deleting my first post in the Biro Biro thread the other night. Makes me wonder if any of the SM developers actually play the game for real & as such encounter these problems.

I practically only use my Macbook to access to SM & basically everything on the internet to be honest as I'm someone that hates to use a phone / tablet often or been seen on them 24/7 like most of the current generation are. That being said I'm on the Macbook far too often but I guess I get away with it as I need to be for my job! Maybe I'll post about it somewhen ;)I've messed around with the App a little on my iPad to check it out & must say that it's brilliant on the most part and a huge upgrade upon the browser & previous app version. The forum section in regards to the new UI is responded to by Steven whom I know plays SM himself, he's also an original owner I believe, not too sure how much he owns of SM now but he's a 'fan' of the game like we are, or at least have been in the past. He's basically the only reason I continue to post on the forum with suggestions & improvements in regards to the new UI. I still have some faith that through him we can get the improvements we want installed, it's a shame though that so many would rather vent and complain that give constructive feedback in order to get the new UI in a place we all want it.
