SIGNINGS

There were no major changes in the first team, mainly due to the fact that the team is almost consolidated. The main news was the pleasant promotion of Murillo to the starting eleven. On the other hand, after the sudden departure of the idol Romario, all kinds of rumours were generated, which is why the club clarifies what happened: Romario started the season in a spectacular way, even being chosen as the man of the match in the initial matches of the cup. Everything was going well, the fans, the chairman and the player were happy, but the club manager had another idea and other plans for the player. Romario, despite his age, was the ideal player for the development of the youth team, the idol to follow and to imitate his game. However, the manager Yamil had to make a drastic decision: keep Romario or give his place to a youth player. After a deep analysis, it was decided to dispense with Romario’s services. Although the player understood the decision, left upset and withdrew his investment in the club, leaving a financial void in the club. Criticism rained down both inside and outside the club, but the manager saw an opportunity and decided to invest his own money in the club, which means that as an investment partner of the club, he no longer has restrictions on offers and now has much more freedom when making signings.

YOUTH TEAM

If Romario had to leave to free up a spot, it was because there were youth players who were on the club’s radar. There were 6 players on the list and after an analysis, it was decided to sign Jetten, Ryan Francisco and Pedro Gabriel, however, the latter would not be easy to get and we had to let Popovic go in the other direction. Bouwman, Steur, Barbas, Wamu Oyatambwe and Van Der Lans are other players with interesting qualities that are joining the youth team.

COMPETITIONS

LEAGUE

At one point we surprisingly came in second place, but a series of poor results and a drop in football from Ruben Garcia, the club’s idol, meant that we are now fighting for the play-off spots. Within what was expected, the team has performed acceptable.

CUP AND SHIELD

Poor performance in the tournaments, eliminated in the second round in both competitions.

WCC and WCS

A decent second place in Group F allowed Besiktas to qualify for the WCS, but they fell to Feyenoord and said goodbye to their chances of continuing to advance.

YOUTH CUP

The youth team managed to qualify for the Youth Shield, but CSKA was in charge of sending our youth players home in the Round of 16. Yamil finally extended his contract with the club for another 5 seasons.
