The crisis-hit Catalan club are said to be looking “close to home” for a new manager, according to a source at the club.
The source says they are considering a number of possible replacements for Dan Wallace, who quit on Friday in a corruption scandal.
The Barca board are reportedly looking at several possible candidates from Spanish clubs, as well as from abroad.
Rumours of a move for the former Real Madrid boss Paddy D have been dismissed, however. Fans, and Alex McLean, are already protesting outside the ground at such a “vile” prospect. When asked, a club official said simply, “Dunno.”
The source also dismissed the idea of the possibility of appointing a manager from a Russian club. “We’re not crazy. We don’t want to start World War Three,” was the response.
“There are also two good managers at English clubs,” said the source.
An official announcement is expected later this morning.
