Atalanta have +13 VA and well deserve a play off spot. Big shout outs to Feyeboord +10VA , Lyon +8 VA also in the playoff and the +11 of Partizan.
It all went wrong for Lazio , should have won the league but on -15VA a dismal performance. Fellow potential high flyers AZ an Independiente suffered the same fate

Playoff bound Montpellier lead the stats.
+12 VA the highest in the league, a great achievement for Montpellier.
Promoted Monaco with +4 VA come 2nd in the stats , just above Boca on +8 VA. Think I was a little harsh on myself in the newsfeed as +9 VA and 4th in the stats is a good performance for Sevilla, though Lokomotivs 20th to 10th could match that on +10VA.
Ajax on -10VA who should have been in the playoffs were last in the stats , above Stuttgart who should have come 2nd and relegated Rubin.
Again some big variance in D4 , although it is often a bit mad.

Malaga are the well deserved champions of D3 , a similar VA to Cruziero but one place higher in the league, both with well deserved promotions. Sampdoria sit third in the stats , honouring their leader Mr Ballotell. Good to see Fiorentina avoiding relegation the other notable VA gain. Worst performer were Everton but they can still find redemption via the playoffs .
Bremen have the lowest VA of -12 with Palace and Liege being the notable underperformers along with relegated Lille

Swansea promoted last season head the stats this season.
+12VA and a playoff spot sees Swansea beat 2nd place team Schalke who had +4VA . River Plate had a remarkable season , relegation candidates or so it seemed but they make the playoffs with a remarkable +13VA. Division 2 seems to have been much affected by the comings and goings mid season. Cologne on +9VA and Villa on +8 really pushed on this season.
Stoke were the big underperforming team on -9 VA , just worse than PSG with Fenerbache just above them. Valencia suffer their 2nd relegation in a row on -7VA.

Barcelona resurgence sees them top of the stats but is this fair?
Usual blurb: Teams are ranked by positional value added. This is basically the value added +1 divided by the finishing position. That way higher ranked teams can still rank highly in the stats.
Barca have a PVA of +2.33 and the highest VA of +6 in the league , they beat Hellas who still got a +2 VA and dominated the league. Arsenal on +4 VA were 3rd in the stats with Levante and Espanyol on +5 VA being notable over achievers. Lowest ranked in the stats were the surprising relegated Genoa with -7 VA , Man City and Juventus had -4VA.
Two potential relegation candidates avoided the drop in Leverkusen and Espanyol.

WCC and WCS winners of season 23
And we finally came to the end of this season of WCC and WCS competition. Amazing season with a lot of surprises come to an end with another surprise.
In WCC final we seen two teams with completely different stories. Dortmund, the best team in Top100 by the stats, finally managed to win a title. They played against the big surprise of the season, River Plate. Twice a narrow win (1-0; 1-0) brings some satisfaction and joy to their manager Dario. He hopes that this title will push the boys to challenge for the division title next season. River Plate, a D2 team, showed up in both matches and fight till the end, but unfortunately was not enough. We have to congratulate their manager Master T for amazing work and fight till last minute. In this season WCC competition, they managed to kick out teams like Porto, Verona, Levante etc. Amazing work!
In WCC we see a big surprise. D2 team Stoke City managed to beat D1 team Bayer Leverkusen (1-1; 2-1). Stoke, who managed before to kick out teams like Benfica, took an opportunity and delivered title to their fans. A pure joy and big celebration in a cold and rainy evening at Stoke. Manager Andrew Kelly, staff members, and his players celebrated all night. They will face a tough time getting fit for the last game of the season. This game can be crucial in the race to stay a D2 team. On the other side, Leverkusen manager Marco G and players are now in a small downfall with confidence. In less than a week they lost two finals, Youth Shield and now also WCS competition. The manager now hopes that players earn at least a point in the last game of the season. This will help keep the club in D1.
At that point, I want to thank all Top100 managers. Your cooperation in this season edition of WCC and WCS is greatly appreciated. In the next days, we will introduce a new format for the competition. This will bring even more exciting games for the new season.
Another season draws to a close
Espanyol will tomorrow face Porto as another season in top100 draws to close on what's been another successful season for the club.
Predicted to go down the club could finish in the top10 but won't finish lower than 13th. The top10 position has been somewhat sacrificed since safety was secured as the manager has looked to manage the squad and give youth opportunities to shine in the first team ahead of what's going to be the clubs hardest season yet next season.
Glen Mullan is proud to have always finished above the clubs predicted finish since taking the helm during season 16. Despite this its been a roller-coaster to rebuild one of the leagues oldest rosters to give the club a sustainable future . As the clock passes 3 years since his appointment the manager thinks the team is finally in a position where its going to be tweaks rather than wholesale changes going forwards.
OMORODION, FAYAD and CHASE are all secured for next season which is likely to be the clubs main business over the close season, especially with the updates suddenly upon us.
"We are coming to the end of our rebuild, which seems strange given we are not power packed with ratings. We've invested massively in the clubs long term sustainability which is going to bare fruits every season for a very long time. We've some incredibly talented footballers across all positions who are going to be hot property as seasons progress. Buying the off the shelf stars with ratings is a costly formula where you end up sacrificing squad stability and depth unless your starting block had an abundance of assets . We've had to be brave in letting big players leave to create a 50 man squad littered with talent for the long game, rather than just exist with a strong 13 or 14 with very little coming through which inevitably will lead to steady decline on the pitch as the experienced pros lose value and ratings. We like to keep an eye on all clubs , and there is certainly storms brewing in many squads as players begin to drop, given the infrastructure of many teams does not give them the assets to either trade up or improve come update time. Stagnation to maintain status quo can be a dangerous policy especially at a time where many are now looking for improvers rather than potential droppers.
Tactically we continue to tinker from game to game to allow certain players opportunities to start, this can lead to some big defeats but has also lead to famous victories against the big clubs we all endeavour to catch. We've enjoyed the adventure this season, we've never looked like being dragged into the relegation dog fight, but understand next season once again we will hold that "favourites to go down" tag. We are still in that yoyo bracket but for the first time actually have a squad which can develop us out of the yoyo situation as time evolves. It may take another relegation/promotion but we are on the right path to establishing the club as a competitive unit capable of challenging for trophies. We get enquiries daily for our young stars which is a massive shift to where we were 3 years ago when the team was old and we couldn't sell them for love nor money.
