So the day is finally here – Cup Final day!
It is also exactly one year to the day that I took over at Celta, so I am hoping for a Happy Anniversary.
Davids Hamburg side provide the opposition.
We go into the match as underdogs, but still have a few players capable of causing an update and the likes of Iglesias, Aspas and Orsolini will have the pressure of finding that magic moment!
The Road to the final for us went as follows:
Round 1: 3-0 home win over Independiente
Round 2: 2-1 home win over FC Porto
Round 3: 3-1 home win over Augsburg
Round 4: 2-1 home win over Celtic
Quarter Final: 2-0 home win over Sevilla
Semi Final: 2-1 away win over PSV
We have an almost full strength first 11 to pick from. Trigueros misses out as he is cup-tied, and Zaracho is only on the bench as he played 90mins on Thursday. Longstaff and Neto come in as replacements.
This is probably the biggest single match of my time in Top100, and a win here would surpass the promotion from D4 to D3 in my eyes.
Hoping for a good game!
Good luck Paul. A cup win is certainly bigger than promotion from D4 to D3, no doubt about! I’m still recovering from our Shield Final defeat to Stuttgart in my first season S2.
