Let’s not start with “Once upon a time…”
Despite this could be a fairytale story, the story around Albion days this season will be described in a way that will make football supporters sigh for more such cases in football.
4th of August 2017, another season ends. Another middle table position and no improvements on Baggies team. 5 seasons of TOP100 and WBA rated as the lower value team of all Top100. 7 Managers that didn’t get board support to get better players.
That exact day brought to Albion side a well-known manager. The infamous Nuno Bento. World of football was shocked to see Bento get back from retirement and accept such a low rated job at Baggies right after a stupendous job recovering is beloved Benfica.
The team, well Matt Ryan was their star, from all original 46 players from team Bento got he just managed to deal Matt Ryan (Sels), Yangel Herrera (Dalot+Rui Pedro) and Diabate (Rolan), all the rest have been sold to extern teams or for cash only. Nowadays only want player remain with Albions, Romulo(!?).
Today near 8 months after Bento got the team, many things changed. WBA project as now a  brand new Youth Academy that wants to fight with Top Academies around the World. 18 Million Euros that President John Williams and owner Guochuan Lai expect Bento to launch some youth players soon.
In an interview to Top100 TV last month President said “Bento demand a complete new Academy to accept Baggies job, owner Guochuan Lai made that effort to bring him in. Now he must prove himself here like he did at Benfica, otherwise not strange if Mr. Lai looks for other options!”
Football Team has been improved, some good deals done by Bento got Baggies a pretty decent squad for Division 5.
Players like Sels, Kongolo, Arnold, Lemina, Hojbjerg, Carrillo, Ordets, Nakajima, Paulinho, Osorio have a strong market value. Team worth is now around 120M and so a total increase of 46 Million since  Bento got the team back in August 2017.
Youth Academy is also producing some interesting values like Matheus Cunha, Tavernier, Bianda, Trincão, Diaby, Garré, Akakouch, Lysov, Moussa Diaby, Paulo Vitor…
Bento said about is the team: “Could have been easy to ask Mr. Lai to invest 200/300 Million on my team. But we have a project and we have to be patient. Future will bring us good things. I’m trilled with what we managed to do so far.”
About Division 5 this season Bento said “As you know last season we finish on 17th if I’m not mistaken. The team now stand at 10th, 3 points away from 5th and 9 points away from 3rd. Still, 17 games to go and we want to finish Top of the League. At least playoffs. We want to fight for promotion despite ou begin of season goal was the middle table.”
Team is enjoying a day off today after last night draw. Tomorrow team flyes to Rio de Janeiro where they play Flamengo next Thursday night.
