Last Night's Youth Cup Results, Updated Tables & Preview of Final Games
Roundup of Week 8, and preview of Weeks 9 and 10 as the Group qualification places are decided.
After last night’s matches, congratulations to Bayern on winning Group A, Dortmund on winning Group B, Aston Villa on winning Group D, Inter on (all but) winning Group G, and Celta Vigo on (all but) winning Group I.
Congratulations also to Leverkusen on qualifying for the Cup knockout stage in Group C.
Group A
Bayern won group A with another convincing victory, this time at the Camp Nou.
For the second week running, Juventus played an overage player (Marco Alonso), gifting Genoa a much-needed three points.
That result sees them move six points clear of Barcelona at the bottom, and with a superior goal difference of 8, with just two games to play.
The decider will be next week as Genoa host Barca, but only a catastrophic defeat would see Top 100 owner Frank Hirst's team fail to qualify for the Cup knockout stages now.

Dortmund's win over bottom club Verona confirms their status as runaway winners of Group B
Five points separate Atletico in second place from Hellas in last, so with two games left it's squeaky bum time.
If Arsenal and Real lose to Atletico and Dortmund respectively next week, and Chelsea beat Verona, the west London side will leap above them into the final Cup qualifying place with one game to go (at home to Real), which would be a remarkable turnaround for James Mackenzie's team. Chelsea, remember, could have been dead and buried if Real hadn't forfeited their home game with them in Week 5!

Group C
Leverkusen booked their place in the Cup knockout stage after Valencia forfeited their match by playing their first eleven. They host second placed Flamengo next week, who will join them in the Cup knockout stage if they win, or if Marseille in third fail to win at Hoffenheim.
Independiente will be hoping for a change of fortune when they host Valencia, knowing that a first win would lift them into the Shield places at the Spanish club's expense.

Milan's failure to beat bottom club Roma at home means that leaders Villa's own home draw with Everton is enough to win Group D and take the only Cup knockout qualifying place.
Just three points separate the next four teams, who are fighting for the remaining three Shield qualifying places.
Roma in last, are already set to enter the inaugural Spoon knockout.

Shakhtar's seniors forfeited their match at Fiorentina, so they swap positions in the table.
Inter are all but sure of winning the group following their impressive win at second placed Berlin. With two games left, they lead by six points and have a goal difference advantage of 14.
Tottenham failed to arrange their fixture with Augsburg. As things stand, I'm not aware that Augsburg messaged Spurs to remind them, in which case it's a loss for both sides. I'm recording it as a 0-0 for the time being solely because FixtureList.com can't handle both teams losing a game! Plus, I suspect it won't make any difference to who qualifies for what.
