season review so far





so half a season has flown by all ready. with the chairman expecting promotion from me the pressure was on to start the season in good form but even tho we had some good displays we weren’t consistent enough and ended up down in 12th place. arguably without fabio quagliarella and timo werner it could of been a lot worse. the only saving grace was our performance’s in the club world cup with a top 2 place guaranteed with 2 games left to play.

with things going well in the club world cup and things being inconsistent in the league things had to change and so a formation changes and the signings on loan of barbosa and also van persie on a permenent deal. the results have slowly started to change and we have got ourselves back up into 3rd place and a automatic promotion place.


with a massive second half of the season to come. ive had to start looking at a few transfers with timo werner going back to juventus this left a spot available so ive signed choupo-moting to replace him with j rodriguez going to Atalanta in return.




glen Johnson has also joined us. I’m hoping this will help us start to keep clean sheets witch has been a problem so far this season. with veloso leaving to unnamed club olympiacos are excited to welcome in is replacement which will be made public when both parties are happy i believe a big second half to the season is in the pipeline 



its also been agreed by me and the board that all youth players will be sold in around 2 weeks as we step away from the youth side of the game and i fully focus on my first team.

Taylor Arrives in Fance

Scottish Manager Niall Taylor has swapped the cold weather of Scotland’s North East Coast for the warmer climates of Central France, Taylor faces the stern task of turning Lyons seasons around which see’s them firmly routed to the bottom of Div 2.






“It was an easy decision to make, i love a challenge and i certainly have my work cut out here in France, as i’m not a fan of onions I loath frogs legs and refused to learn french at school!, but on a serious note the fans of this club deserve better from these players and i will ensure that they give 110% every week, or the exit door will await!” 


Taylor has also been quick to make changes to the French sides squad with 11 players joining and 5 leaving including striker Sow, " I didn’t feel he was up to the job and seemed to show no desire to be here, so we shipped him out and are delighted to welcome Marcel  Sabitzer & Jóhann Berg  Gudmundsson to the club in exchange, I feel Marcel will be a big signing for us in our fight against relegation".

Taylor has also pre agreed a deal with Seville for the sale of defender Marcos Rojo which will see Belgian International Christian Benteke & Ex Lyon player  Clément Grenier, “delighted to bring in Christian, hopefully he will fire us away from the foot of the table, i see Rojo as a liability at the back so was delighted when the offer came in”

Taylor has also installed Swedish international Pontus  Wernbloom  as Club Captain, " he seems to have the respect of the players in the dressing room and can speak English and french which helps!"

So can Taylor keep Lyon up only time will tell

Torino Mid Season Report Card

Torino are in 7th at the mid-point of an exciting Div 5 of T100 with 8 wins, 8 draws, 3 losses and 32 points.  Currently occupying the last promotion playoff spot and also needing to finish in this position at the end of the season for manager Huddo to keep his job.  So the pressure is on for a big 2nd half of the season.


Our best result was a 4-0 home win over Malaga back on Match Day 11.  While our worse result was a 3-1 defeat to Flamengo on Match Day 12 so we must have been celebrating too much over our win over Malaga the turn before!

Our best transfer was bringing in Negredo despite his drop in rating to 89 the striker has been in great form in Italy with 10 goals, 5 assists and 7 MOTM from 17 appearances.  Negredo has also been our player of the season so far and we will need his goals and leadership if we are to keep in the promotion playoff spots and look to climb the table.

Skrtel is a player under pressure having looked a little shaky at the back with an avg match rating of just 6.35.  He needs to show some improvement and manager Huddo is looking at trying to strengthen his squad in particular at the back.

What lies ahead, well we are out of both the Cup and Shield so promotion is our goal as it was after relegation last season from Div 4.  We also have the World Club Cup with crucial games against PSV and Udinese to round out our Group 12 games and with positive results in both games we can progress to the knockout stage which was our goal in a challenging group.

Overall, I would give our season so far a 6 out of 10 nothing impressive but we are in the mix for a promotion playoff spot and while we have only lost 3 games we have drawn too many with 8 from the 19 games being played ending in a stalemate.  


Leverkusen vs Fenerbahce

            VS 



Fenerbahce travel to Germany tonight to face Mr. Noisy’s, Leverkusen. Both teams have won their last two games, so each side will be hoping to add a third.

If Fenerbahce win they could climb up to 8th, which is just outside the Playoff positions, they already sit four points clear of Leverkusen but that could all change if Leverkusen snatch victory.
