While Besiktas won the Division 5 title in season 24, season 25 looked to be a more complicated and complex one, the Turkish team finished in 12th place in Division 4. The main concern is that of not having a fully consolidated squad.

ADVANCED AGES AND PLAYERS WITH CHANGES IN RATING

The club has players with a rating of 87+, many of them are of a very advanced age and at risk of decreasing their value. Such is the case of Luis Suárez, our main striker, who recently dropped from 90 to 89. He is still very useful, but we don't know for how long.

Another player affected was the team's idol Portu who dropped from 88 to 86, the club did everything possible to keep him in the team until the end of the season as he is a player who gave a lot of joy to the club but had to leave earlier to have space in the squad. The club aprreciates his collaboration with the club.

Furthermore, 7 players who were important pieces had to leave the team to make room for other players who could help the team. Ruben Garcia, Viña, Tousart, Patric, Lukic, Orellano and Figal left. St-Juice, Maia, Barboza, and Luiz Araujo arrived in their place.

As the club was unable to reach agreements the club was forced to look for other alternatives so as not to end up stuck with a veteran team. Thus, it was decided to sign players middle-aged and low-rated players, hoping for a lucky break with one of them. The players chosen were: A. Hurtado, J. Freytes, A. Rodriguez, P. Henrique, Marcos Antonio, M. Martinelli but we had to let go another outstanding player from last season Lukic in order to sign him. Lyanco, a pitbull on the pitch, was also signed; a player like him was needed.

YOUTH TEAM STAGNATED

While the main team continues to be a concern for continuing to accumulate advanced age the youth team has not been the difference and is another cause for concern. There is talent but its development has stalled and is taking much longer than expected.

A striking case is that of Restes, who unleashed the fury of the manager, despite being a great talent on the pitch he left much to be desired. Finally an ultimatum by the club allowed a change of attitude from the player, allowing the situation to be resolved and his level can be enjoyed. Leoni and Anselmino stand out in the reserve team, but the rest still cannot make the definitive leap.

There are players who haven't developed as expected, either due to injuries or lack of opportunities, and some have had to leave the team. The club was unable to retain two of its young talents, Sakar and Fitzgerald, who left in search of better opportunities. To cover their departures, M. Chelmik, A. Campos and Q. Ndjantou were signed for the reserve team.

FINANCE

Another aspect to consider is the club's finances. At the start of the season, the club had barely 3 million in its accounts. Some sales have raised some cash, but it's still far below expectations considering the financial potential of other teams.

The manager and the club knew very well that the joy of last season were only a momentary bubble that could burst at any moment and some measures have been taken so that the impact will not be too strong.

Besiktas debuted in the top100 league as a member of Division 4. A promising start, winning the title and promotion in their first season, since then the club's campaign has been a roller coaster ride, with ups and downs between Divisions 3, 4 and 5 also due to the constant changes of managers that have passed through the club.

For season 19 the club, which was in the 4th Division, decided to give Yamil Mc02 a chance, however things did not go according to plan: relegation as the worst team, ban for exceeding the squad cap, forced to sell Ousmane Diomande to avoid being sacked for poor results. A nightmare where the Charmain decided to give the manager a new chance despite criticism from the fans but were asked to believe in the process.

A longer process than expected but with the 24th season concluded we can say: BESIKTAS CHAMPION!

THE BREAKTHROUGH

It was the 68th minute at the Philips Stadion, the team was attacking without much luck, Arias made an assist to Portu who settled and shot into the corner, a great goal that was celebrated by the fans who travelled to support the team. The minutes tick by, and the team looks for a second goal to put them at ease, but there's no luck. The bench is closely monitoring the results of the other matches. The long-awaited 90th minute arrives, the referee blows his whistle, the players and coaching staff erupt in joy as the other results are known, the fans celebrate the title.

Here are the first statements from manager and the players:

Manager Yamil: "From the fall we were able to get up, we took the team in 4th Division and we return it to 4th Division, we sold Diomande and signed Murillo. Football gives us revenge. Now it's time to celebrate, and in the coming days we'll analyze how to approach next season and the challenge of being in the 4th Division".

Portu: "Happy, very happy. The team deserves it. We gave it our all on the field, and today it's time to celebrate".

Luis Suarez: "This group is fantastic. I'm proud to be part of this team".

Murillo: "I'm staying! Sad not to be able to play in the last game due to injury, but I'm here supporting my teammates".

It has been a hard-fought season, with top managers battling match after match for promotion and the title. Just three goals were the difference for the Black Eagles to be consecrated at the top of Division 5.

THE MAIN EAGLES

The club wishes to congratulate and thank each of the players even those who are no longer with us but have been an important part of the process, such as: Damian Bobadilla, Mika Godts, Alexsander, Chirivella, McKenna, Kaua Santos, M. Friedrich, Armani, Campaz, Saldanha, and Yunis Abdelhamid, our ex great captain, who has been offered the position of youth team coach of Besiktas when he retires from football.

Guillaume Restes: The young goalkeeper started with strong performances at the start of the season, being named man of the match three times, however, his performances declined towards the end.

Costa Murillo: The defensive leader has been improving match by match. 2 goals, 1 assist, and 1 man of the match.

Tousart (3 goals, 1 assist, 1 man of the match), O. Pineda (2 goals, 2 assists), T. Hazard (3 goals, 3 assists), R. Garcia (3 goals, 6 assists, 1 man of the match), and L. Orellano (2 goals, 4 assists, 1 man of the match) were also key players who defined matches.

Hanny Mukthar the most underperforming starter in the attack, his best performance came playing as a 9 when Suarez was unavailable. 8 goals and 2 assists.

But the show was stolen by Besiktas' golden trident: Arias, Suarez, and Portu.

Jhon Arias: Just like last season, the Colombian had a great performance, scoring 5 goals and 12 assists with an average performance of 7.03.

Luis Suarez: What can we say about this player? The killer of the rival area. He completely changed the face of the team. He was the player we needed, scoring 16 goals, scoring 6 assists, and winning the Man of the Match award 12 times. An average performance of 7.56. And true to his style, 6 yellow cards. A real warrior.

Manzanera Portu: The Spaniard's season playing on the left wing is incredible. He scored the title-winning goal, idol of the fans and the manager. 13 goals, 20 assists, and 5 times player of the match.

Besiktas is pleased to inform its fans and supporters of the news and developments of this season.

SIGNINGS

There were no major changes in the first team, mainly due to the fact that the team is almost consolidated. The main news was the pleasant promotion of Murillo to the starting eleven. On the other hand, after the sudden departure of the idol Romario, all kinds of rumours were generated, which is why the club clarifies what happened: Romario started the season in a spectacular way, even being chosen as the man of the match in the initial matches of the cup. Everything was going well, the fans, the chairman and the player were happy, but the club manager had another idea and other plans for the player. Romario, despite his age, was the ideal player for the development of the youth team, the idol to follow and to imitate his game. However, the manager Yamil had to make a drastic decision: keep Romario or give his place to a youth player. After a deep analysis, it was decided to dispense with Romario's services. Although the player understood the decision, left upset and withdrew his investment in the club, leaving a financial void in the club. Criticism rained down both inside and outside the club, but the manager saw an opportunity and decided to invest his own money in the club, which means that as an investment partner of the club, he no longer has restrictions on offers and now has much more freedom when making signings.

YOUTH TEAM

If Romario had to leave to free up a spot, it was because there were youth players who were on the club's radar. There were 6 players on the list and after an analysis, it was decided to sign Jetten, Ryan Francisco and Pedro Gabriel, however, the latter would not be easy to get and we had to let Popovic go in the other direction. Bouwman, Steur, Barbas, Wamu Oyatambwe and Van Der Lans are other players with interesting qualities that are joining the youth team.

COMPETITIONS

LEAGUE

At one point we surprisingly came in second place, but a series of poor results and a drop in football from Ruben Garcia, the club's idol, meant that we are now fighting for the play-off spots. Within what was expected, the team has performed acceptable.

CUP AND SHIELD

Poor performance in the tournaments, eliminated in the second round in both competitions.

WCC and WCS

A decent second place in Group F allowed Besiktas to qualify for the WCS, but they fell to Feyenoord and said goodbye to their chances of continuing to advance.

YOUTH CUP

The youth team managed to qualify for the Youth Shield, but CSKA was in charge of sending our youth players home in the Round of 16. This match was eagerly awaited by the manager of Besiktas who wanted to see 3 players from the Russian team in action, two of whom played the match and left a good impression. Before the end of the season the Turkish team is expected to make a strong offer to sign the players. We know that it will be a very difficult and almost impossible mission, but the attempt will be made.

MANAGER

Yamil finally extended his contract with the club for another 5 seasons. Although the media indicated that there was interest to manage an English club some time ago, he finally did not submit his request. Rumours indicate that he saw his players in training and thought that this is his place, these are his players and with them we will forge our own destiny. The Eagles dream of flying to the top.

One of the characteristics that the current Manager Yamil Mc02 looks for his squad is to give a main role to youth players. That is why when he received the team he was surprised to see the club's youth academies neglected. The first signings were quickly made to be able to compete in the youth tournaments, which by the way have been classified as essential by the coach so that the youth players can develop properly. After 4 seasons, it was possible to form a fairly decent youth team of 25 players, including the goalkeeper RESTES, the defenders MURILLO, LEONI, ZANOTTI, PEDRO LIMA, the midfielders HELGUERA, GOMES ALEXSANDER, NONGE, DIOP, ISEPPE, GODTS, POPOVIC and at the front THALYS. The two youngest members of the club that join them are: the promising FINLAY GORMAN and TONI FERNÁNDEZ, 15 years old each. Having achieved the objective of being the Manager with the most games in charge with Besiktas, Yamil Mc02 enters the fifth and final year of the contract initially agreed upon with the President of the club. Both parties have not yet met to negotiate an extension, however within the club offices there is talk of a possible extension of 2 seasons. When asked about this, the manager only limited himself to saying: "I am delighted with the club, we are in no rush to renew but the fans can rest assured." A relegation, a play-off and 2 mid-table positions is the balance in these 4 seasons. Although the sporting objectives that have been set have not yet been achieved, the club has been restructured to make it profitable throughout the seasons. Of the players that the Manager received in season 20, ARMANI, PATRIC, OBISPO, VIÑA, PINEDA, MUKTHAR and GARCIA currently remain, who are the vertical column of the team. Joining them this season ABNER, OUNAHI, BOBADILLA and SALDANHA. For Supporters there are outstanding players in the squad such as JHON ARIAS, and RUBEN GARCIA the team's goalscorer, but without a doubt the fans' favorite is ROMARIO DE SOUZA, who, at the age of 58, joined the team at the end of last season. He even scored his first goal in the 6 games he entered as a substitute. For this season, it is expected that he will have more playing minutes, even as a starter. The season for Besiktas turned out to be somewhat hectic. After 28 turns riddled with bad results, the team was 17th in the table and with the morale of the players totally sunk. In Turkey, there was already talk of the possible arrival of a new coach to change the negative trend of recent times.

Around this time, Dr Martínez was fully focused on his success with FC Basel, promoted from Div5 to Div1 where he was ranked 11th in the table. These results did not go unnoticed and that is why Anderlecht took over their services after matchday 28 of this season. This feat was taken as a personal and professional challenge by Dr Martínez to try to fight for some top-level title in the Top 100. However, his illusions were truncated by criticism of his management and after receiving several messages comparing him with the previous Anderlecht manager. For this reason, Dr Martínez terminated the contract with the Belgian club just 2 days later without having played a single match and without signing any player.

Dr Martínez was released, he had no team, so Besiktas took this opportunity to negotiate a long-term contract with the Spanish coach. The Valencian manager did not take long to bring in players of his confidence to change the course of the team, after many hours of negotiation with various teams, these were the most prestigious players he signed: Marlos, Stepanenko, Leiva, Franco Vázquez, Ismaily, Monreal, Baumgartlinger, Damián Suárez, Bastos, Fabra, Noble, Fer, Berg. 3x3 Transfer between Besiktas and Napoli

As me and the players put together the final touches for our last game against Aston villa on Thursday night.i thought id take a little time out to thank the most important people at this club and thats you the fans. you have been incredible all season and the players appreciated the support through the good times and the bad.

overall no matter what happens against Aston villa this week in our attempts to claim a play off place.i believe this season can be called a successful campaign. the players and myself are determined to do our best to achieve a play off place.no matter what we will come back next season more determined than ever to achieve our ultimate goal of winning a trophy for the fans.

rumours this evening seem to suggest that frank hirst has sent his top lawyer to turkey to deliver a new team coach to besiktas with all the mod cons on board. And free tickets to Italy for all players included. sky sports contacted besiktas for there response to these rumors. besiktas said in a statement.

with rumors of bribes being used to influence our teams performance on Thursday night we feel we must respond to these reports.besiktas have not been bribed by frank or anyone at Genoa..And will never be bribed by anyone but with finances so low at this moment in time we are not in a position to turn down gifts from others and so we thanked frank and the Genoa board for our new coach and wish them well on Thursday.we must stress this was a free gift and not a bribe as people are wrongly assuming.

squeaky bum time at besiktas!!!!

With just 7 games to go besiktas lie in 6th place just 1 point inside the play off places. And with 3 of the last 7 games against the top 3 sides in the league with genoa aston villa and internacional all set to visit the vodofone arena.it looks like being a dog fight to achieve a top 7 place.

the besiktas board demanded a improvement on last seasons finish especially with the cash the owners injected into the club. with marseille just 5 points behind us this season could easily go from a potential success to me being sacked as manager of this club after i promised the board id at least match last seasons finish..

the massive problem for us this season has been draws with us having 12 drawn games.this has to be changed quickly if were to achieve our play off aim now.

overall the players and fans have been great this season and hopefully we can finish it of in style

hi guys not done a post in a while due to a personal family problem which has taken some of my time up but things are slowly sorting themselves out and hopefully ill get more time on top 100. anyway thats enough about boring me.

what a season it has been so far at besiktas for the fans and there manager prince of persia gave us a insight to the season so far

"its been a up and down roller coaster for us this season so far and arguably the shock defeat to Monaco has been the hardest result to take this season inwhat should of been 3 points given the sides difference this season.. my realistic target set for this season was to improve on last season finish of 11th under the previous regime.with so many transfers it could have gone so wrong for me as the coach this season but the lads have been brilliant and worked hard for the fans.

my aim is now to secure a play off place and of course finish above the rivals across the road.with the way we have played this season i feel anything other than a play off place will be classed as a failure and potentially at risk of being sacked by the board.

we have had a pretty settled side this season so far but injuries and suspensions are now taking its toll on the side and with a real possibility this could cost us a place in the play offs i've now started scouting in the hope of getting a striker in on a short term basis".

the price of persia even had a opinion on his rivals at galatasary.

"i guess the going got tough there and being below us was not easy and kun al lost is battle to keep is job.now with walter at the helm i guess it creates a rivaly again but from our point of view at besiktas i guess we have nothing to worry about as there not really important and we have more competition in training than anything galatasaray could throw at us.

division 3 opinions from beskitas

Hi guys as game 9 approaches of what could be a very tough and tight division 3 league.I thought I’d give my opinions and my views as besiktas manager and my targets this season along with a few comments about some of my opposite numbers in division 3.

As I embark on my first full season with besiktas. The aim I have set my players and staff is to achieve a top 7 finish with the strength in depth this should be a fair target for my very experienced players but I no It won’t be easy with some top managers within division 3.

and on that note regarding my fellow rivals in division 3 i thought id give a little insight into how myself and the besiktas board view a few managers.

Frank at Genoa: what a top manager he is and should be in contention for promotion (obviously i cannot confirm or deny that i have received a cash incentive bribe from frank or any of is associates) i cant wait for my holiday to italy.

rahul w at Aston villa. seems to be doing a wonderful job at Aston villa and certainly will be a rival for me this season

kun al at galatasary:for obvious reasons here at besiktas we cant stand this man.he seems to have some bromance with broon at fenerbache which makes it worse.i guess that’s why 2 arrogant managers make a great couple.

golden bear at Monaco: Arguably the most underachieving manager in division 3. the guy has poor man management skills and should be ashamed of is current position. maybe hes to busy drinking beer on the boats in the harbor than looking after is team.

division 3 will be the closest league this season and im sure in 10 games time the table will look a lot more different with no doubt that the likes of Genoa will lose a match soon enough as hes the only unbeaten one and im sure most of us will drop points to other teams. who ever gets promoted this season will be in great shape to challenge in division 2 and for those unlucky to be relegated it will no doubt be more challenging to get back into division 3

i guess its that time were i must go as the players have a training session ahead of tonight’s game against crystal palace.

besiktas woes??

with the league season 5 games in its been a pretty frustrating time for besiktas fans with 1 win 3 draws and 1 loss. this evening we spoke to the besiktas manager as they prepared for there cup game tomorrow against celtic.

Q.THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME OUT TO SPEAK TO US TONIGHT. AFTER A TRANSFER MERRY GO ROUND WHY DO YOU FEEL YOUR TEAM IS STRUGGLING SO FAR?

P.well thank you for having me tonight.the reason we are struggling is my fault and thats because i cant quite decide what is my best formation or best 11 for that matter. i think the quicker i sort this out i feel we will start to get the wins we need.

Q.DO YOU FEEL ANY CLOSER TO FINDING OUT YOUR BEST 11?

P.yeah i dont feel far away from it.im sure there will be some upset players but thats why im manager. i have to make big decisions.

Q.WHY DID YOU BUY SO MANY NEW PLAYERS ESPECIALLY ATTACKING OPTIONS?

P.i always felt i wanted to change half the team and make it my own.its hard to know whats around the corner so i made a decision on certain players at that time as i wanted some depth to deal with injurys etc.

Q.ARE THERE ANY MORE PLANS TO SIGN ANY MORE PLAYERS?

P.not really i have plans to offload 2 players an i do have luis hernandez coming in soon but unless something jumps out at me then this team will be given the chance to press on this season in the hope of securing a possible play off place.

Q.WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE TO THE BESIKTAS FANS?

P. my message to them will be to get behind the team an support them even if times get hard and i'm sure we will have success in the future.we as a club will continue to work hard for the club and fans

FENERBAHCE VS BESIKTAS

Fenerbahce host Besiktas tonight in the Achilles cup. Broon needs all three points to have any hope of qualifying as Besiktas and Olympiakos have 9 and 8 points respectively, with Fenerbahce only having 4. But a win tonight could change things as this would put Gerrit’s Besiktas only 2 points off Broon’s side, and if results go their way in other fixtures, it puts him a point off the qualifying spots if Olympiakos lose to Galatasaray.
