Welcome to Berlin – Season 14 Preview

Well, its a little late due to the weekend being a busy one, but here is a look at the Hertha Berlin team looking establish themselves as a regular division one team.

Gollini takes over as our number one this season. He came in back of the last and performed well and with age firmily on his side, looks set to the Hertha number one for some time.

Henrichs moved to Hertha knowing that first team chances might be slim, but with Bellarbi leaving, he has jumped up into the starting IX. We hope it wont take too long for him to settle in and get hold of the tactics as he may well be a vital piece of the puzzle.

Despite some uncertainty around his future, Marcelo starts as our left back for the campaign. At 91 rated, their are not many around better and with his love to bomb forward, he makes us a very dangerous down the left hand side.

Our big money signing from Manchester United this one. We desperately needed a young centre back and this lad is as good as they come. Should be a main stay for many seasons to come and takes over from the legend that is Jonny Evans nicely.

There was some interest from Bayern Munich for Felipe but we managed to hold on to him. We hope he can form a strong partnership with Manuel at the back and makes us hard to beat.

Into his second season now with Berlin, Axel is a monster in the heart of midfield. We need strong defensive mids if our formation is to work, and right now this guy has everything we need. Pretty much an every present last season.

Joined us late in the season and with suspension and injury, didnt really get going. With him and Axel in the centre of the park, we hope to be too strong against a few of the teams in the league.

Huge amounts expected from Lorenzo. He came us as part of a deal which saw Koke go the other way to Espanyol. Hes young and hungry and we hope, will be an excellent addition to the team.

Captain fantastic. If we are to do anything in the league this year, it will be down to this man here. 11 Goas and 14 Assists last season dragged us into Europe for the first time in the clubs history. Fans love him, i love him, long live king Marco!

Well, the player who could be the surprise package for the season. We sacrificed our RB to bring in Wilf and i hope its a gamble that pays off. On his day, we all know he can be brilliant. Lets hope he keep his consistency high and becomes a fans favourite in Berlin!

One of the few players i would do anything to get. At the time, we had the choice between Rebic and his good friend Jovic but in the end, Rebic was the man for us. He will take over from Belotti as our main striker and fingers crossed he will lead us to some success this season.

THE BENCH

Sven Bender, Haken Calhanoglu, Marcos Acuna, Unai Nunez, Jordan Ayew, Ben Verbic and Nicolas Dominguez.

A great mixture of youth and experience on the bench, not something we have had for a while so delighted to get a few of these guys on board. In Acuna we have the most versatile player around and i feel we have most positions covered.
